An unstable foundation can cause the equipment to sway and shift during operation, affecting alignment accuracy. For example, in land drilling operations, if the ground is soft or experiences uneven settlement, the drilling equipment may tilt, leading to alignment deviations. Therefore, before installation, a rigorous geological survey and reinforcement of the foundation are necessary to ensure it meets the installation requirements.

Second, advanced measuring instruments and techniques must be employed during alignment. Laser alignment systems are commonly used high-precision measuring tools that can quickly and accurately measure the relative position and angular deviations between the equipment’s components. Through the emission and reception of the laser beam, operators can visually observe whether there are alignment problems and obtain specific deviation data. Based on this data, technicians can adjust the equipment, such as adjusting the levelness of the drilling rig’s base and correcting the verticality of the drill pipe, to restore the equipment to its correct alignment. In addition, total stations and other surveying equipment can be used to monitor the wellbore trajectory in real time, promptly identifying and correcting deviations to ensure drilling operations proceed along the predetermined path.

Alignment work requires operators to possess rich experience and keen observation skills, enabling them to accurately judge the equipment’s operating status and alignment. During operation, they must strictly follow operating procedures, meticulously record all data, and carefully analyze the data.
